I will trace the lineage of the ancestor of your choice as far back as it can accurately be researched. This would typically be the early 1800s or late 1700s. I will only present information that can be supported by documentation, and I will provide sources.

 

 

     In your research package:

 

 

• up to 10 BMD certificates/PDF entries (combination of both)

• 20 or 30* hours research time**

• relevant census returns, parish register extracts and entries, and any other relevant documents including newspaper articles (if applicable) 

• military, local history (providing context)

• research report (narratives for direct ancestors)

• ancestors occupations

• addresses and places your ancestors lived

• surname meanings

• images, maps and more

• pedigree chart

• flash drive (loaded with all research)

• advice and tips

• padded family history binder to hold all your certificates and any other documentation I find during the research process. The binder comes with pocket sleeves which are designed to hold BMD certificates and other documentation. You can choose the colour of your binder when ordering.

        Binder colours : Blue, Green, Black, Burgundy

*Research hours depend on whether you opt for 20 or 30 hours.

**This is research time only and does not include the time it takes to type up the research report, or the time it takes to travel to a local record office. It is the actual time spent researching the line you have purchased.

​Requirements

 

I will need the birth dates and birthplaces of your parents and I will also need details of your grandparents for the line you would like me to research. Please provide as much information as you can.

 

For example, if you wish me to research your maternal grandmother's line, I would need your mother's birth details and your maternal grandparents' details. I would then trace your maternal grandmother's paternal line (maiden name) and her maternal line. In other words, I won't just trace one surname. 

 

I offer more hours of research for each package so that I can do extensive research.

Payment                                  

 

I will send an invoice via PayPal asking for 50% of the research package fee to be paid before research begins. You do not need a PayPal account to pay the invoice through PayPal and you can pay using your debit or credit card.

 

You will be sent a separate invoice for the remaining 50% (balance) which is to be paid once the research package is ready to be dispatched. Once full payment has been received the research package will be dispatched to you. 

​

PayPal gives you the option of paying in three interest free payments (over three months). I ask for 50% of the fee to be paid up front so that I can begin your research. If you prefer to spread the cost and buy the research package direct from my website then you also have that as an option.

​Upgrade Options

 

If you would like to upgrade to a two-family line or four-family line research package, you have the option to do so at any time.  Please email me first to discuss the package you wish to upgrade to.

​Cancellations and Refunds​

 

You can make a cancellation before research is completed and you will only be charged for the research I have already undertaken, which includes any purchases that I have already made to further the research. This includes my time researching,  BMD certificates and other documents I have purchased.

​

​In the event that I am unable to proceed with your research, you will be notified and offered either a partial refund or full refund, depending on how far into the research I was at the point of cancellation.

​

​Delivery

​

You should expect the delivery of your research package to be approximately 12 weeks (for a one-family line research package). This is an approximate time only and may change if there are delays for any reason. You will be notified if there is a delay. If you have opted for 30 hours (more in-depth research) it will take a little longer.

​

The time includes waiting for certificates to arrive, as well as visiting record offices (if applicable), and typing up your research report.  

​

Deliveries outside the UK may incur an extra cost (the price that it will cost for your research to be delivered to you). This will not apply if you prefer your research to be emailed to you.

 

You will receive updates via email on progress made.

​Your Personal Information

 

Your personal information will be kept safe and will never be passed to a third party. Your postal address will only be used to ship your research report, documents, certificates and binder. I will post the research form to you if requested.

 

Your email address will be used to update you on research progress and to let you know when research has been completed, and your research bundle is on its way to you.
